Primary reasons for collecting Personal Information:
RMTs, as all other medical professionals, collect, use and disclose personal information in order to better serve our clients and to provide safe, effective treatments, and/or to refer them to other health care providers if massage therapy is not the right treatment option for them.
Secondary reasons for collecting Personal Information:
- To invoice clients for services rendered or to process payments using a credit card.
- To provide information to the CMTO (College of Massage Therapists of Ontario), as part of regulatory activities in the public interest.
- To confirm services rendered in the case of an audit from your insurance company
- Online booking. We collect personal information that is necessary in order to book and secure your appointment with us.
Duty to report RMTs, as all regulated health care professionals, have a duty to report suspected child abuse or neglect, as well as suspected elder abuse. Providing personal information is required for reporting.
Your information can be shared with other health care professionals unless you indicate that your information should not be shared.
